CapMetro Route 20 to downtown Congress Ave costs $1.25 and takes 30–35 minutes. Buses depart from outside the terminal on the lower level. Last bus around midnight; late arrivals need a ride-share.Uber and Lyft pickup is on the lower level (follow signs to TNCs). Fares run $20–30 to downtown, 15–20 minutes off-peak. The compact layout makes navigation straightforward, and TSA wait times are moderate outside of SXSW and Formula 1 Grand Prix weekends, when the airport operates at maximum congestion. The MetroRail Capital Metro does not yet reach AUS. Ground transport is currently taxi, rideshare, or the Route 20 bus to downtown, which takes about 30 minutes. A rail extension is in long-term planning stages.
