South Korean passport holders enter the Netherlands visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen area. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen zone. No supporting documents are required at the border, but carry proof of accommodation, return travel, and sufficient funds.

Your passport is stamped on first entry into the Schengen area. The 90-day limit applies across all 27 Schengen countries combined, not just the Netherlands. If you have spent time in other Schengen countries on the same trip, subtract those days. For stays beyond 90 days, apply for a residence permit or long-stay visa (MVV) at the Dutch Embassy in Seoul before travel.

Direct flights from Seoul Incheon to Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS) run about 11 hours on KLM and Korean Air (joint venture partners). The Netherlands uses the euro. No mandatory vaccinations. An OV-chipkaart (anonymous version, EUR 7.50) works on all Dutch trains, trams, buses, and metros. Schiphol has a direct train connection to Amsterdam Centraal (15 minutes, EUR 5.80). Card payments are universal, and many shops do not accept cash. The Dutch use PIN (debit) cards by default, but Visa and Mastercard work at most places.

AREX (Airport Railroad Express) runs two services from Seoul Station: the Direct Train (43 min, ₩11,000, reserved seats) and the All-Stop train (66 min, ₩4,550, unreserved). Both trains serve T1 first, then T2; confirm which terminal your airline uses before boarding.Limousine buses depart from major Seoul neighborhoods and hotels (₩16,000–18,000, 60–90 min depending on traffic). KAL and LIMOUSINE services are reliable. Taxis from central Seoul cost ₩65,000–80,000 and take 60–90 minutes. Deluxe (black) taxis are pricier but English-speaking drivers are more common.

Trains depart directly from inside the terminal (Schiphol Plaza) to Amsterdam Centraal every 10–15 minutes (15 min, €5.70). Direct intercity trains also serve Rotterdam, The Hague, Utrecht, and Eindhoven without requiring transfers. NS Hispeed connects to Brussels (1h 50m) and Paris CDG (3h 20m).

Taxis use a meter; Amsterdam Centraal costs €35–50. Ride-hail apps (Uber, Bolt) are cheaper at €25–40. Car rental agencies are at the terminal. Bus 397 to Leidseplein is the budget option (€5.50).

Temperate maritime climate, mild and frequently overcast year-round. Winters are cold (0–7°C) with regular rain and occasional snow or freezing fog. AMS handles de-icing efficiently but heavy snowfall (rare) causes cascading delays across the network. Fog is the primary winter disruption risk, particularly November through February.

Summers are warm (17–24°C) with long days and moderate rain. Thunderstorms in July–August cause brief but sharp delays. Strong crosswinds from the North Sea affect small aircraft year-round. Pack a waterproof layer regardless of season.
