Seoul to Warsaw (ICN–WAW) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

South Korean passport holders enter Poland visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen area. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen zone. No supporting documents are required at the border, but carry proof of accommodation, return travel, and sufficient funds.

Your passport is stamped on first entry into the Schengen area. The 90-day limit applies across all 27 Schengen countries combined. If you have spent time in other Schengen countries on the same trip, subtract those days. For stays beyond 90 days, apply for a temporary residence permit at the provincial office (Urzad Wojewodzki) in the city where you are staying, filed before your visa-free period expires.

Direct flights from Seoul Incheon to Warsaw (WAW) run about 10 hours 30 minutes on LOT Polish Airlines and Korean Air. Poland uses the Polish zloty (PLN), trading at roughly 4.0 PLN per $1. Card payments are accepted nearly everywhere, including small shops and market stalls. No mandatory vaccinations. Warsaw Chopin Airport has a direct train to the city center (20 minutes, PLN 4.40). Bolt and Uber both operate in Warsaw, Krakow, Gdansk, and Wroclaw, typically cheaper than standard taxis.

AREX (Airport Railroad Express) runs two services from Seoul Station: the Direct Train (43 min, ₩11,000, reserved seats) and the All-Stop train (66 min, ₩4,550, unreserved). Both trains serve T1 first, then T2; confirm which terminal your airline uses before boarding.Limousine buses depart from major Seoul neighborhoods and hotels (₩16,000–18,000, 60–90 min depending on traffic). KAL and LIMOUSINE services are reliable. Taxis from central Seoul cost ₩65,000–80,000 and take 60–90 minutes. Deluxe (black) taxis are pricier but English-speaking drivers are more common.

The SKM commuter train (PLN 4.40–7.00) from platform level in the terminal to Warszawa Centralna takes 25 minutes; easiest and most affordable. Trains run every 15–30 minutes from around 04:30 to midnight. Night bus N32 covers late arrivals.Taxi from the official rank: PLN 40–60 to city center. Uber and Bolt: PLN 30–50, pickup from the designated zone outside arrivals. Rental cars from several major brands are in the arrivals hall. Solidarity Airport (Chopin's formal name) is 10km south of the center via Aleje Jerozolimskie.

Humid continental climate with cold winters and warm summers. January averages −3–2°C. Snow and freezing rain are common from December through February and cause routine de-icing delays and occasional cancellations. Snowfall can be heavy. WAW has robust de-icing capability, but significant events still cause disruption.

Summers (June–August) are warm at 22–28°C with frequent thunderstorms in July. Spring and autumn offer the most operationally stable weather. Pack a proper winter coat from November through March. Wind chill on the tarmac is significant.
