South Korean passport holders enter the United Kingdom visa-free for up to 6 months as a Standard Visitor. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for the duration of the stay. You cannot work on a Standard Visitor entry, but business meetings, conferences, and academic activities are permitted.

At UK airports, Korean passport holders can use the eGates (automated passport gates) at Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester, and other major airports. Scan your biometric passport and walk through with no queue or interview. If the eGate directs you to an officer, expect questions about travel purpose, length of stay, and accommodation. No stamp is given through eGates; entry is recorded electronically. The UK is not in the Schengen area, so UK days do not count toward Schengen limits.

Direct flights from Seoul Incheon to London Heathrow run about 12 hours on Korean Air, Asiana, and British Airways. The UK uses the British pound (GBP), trading at roughly 1,750 KRW per GBP 1. Contactless payment (card or phone) works on all London transport. An Oyster card or contactless tap charges the same fare, capped at GBP 8.10 per day for Zones 1 to 2. No mandatory vaccinations. South Korea has a Youth Mobility Scheme (working holiday) agreement with the UK for ages 18 to 30, costing GBP 298, valid for 2 years. The Heathrow Express to Paddington costs GBP 25 (15 minutes), while the Elizabeth Line takes 35 minutes for the standard Tube fare.

AREX (Airport Railroad Express) runs two services from Seoul Station: the Direct Train (43 min, ₩11,000, reserved seats) and the All-Stop train (66 min, ₩4,550, unreserved). Both trains serve T1 first, then T2; confirm which terminal your airline uses before boarding.Limousine buses depart from major Seoul neighborhoods and hotels (₩16,000–18,000, 60–90 min depending on traffic). KAL and LIMOUSINE services are reliable. Taxis from central Seoul cost ₩65,000–80,000 and take 60–90 minutes. Deluxe (black) taxis are pricier but English-speaking drivers are more common.

Heathrow Express runs every 15 minutes to Paddington (15 min, £25). Piccadilly line is slower (50–60 min) but £5.50 with Oyster. National Express coaches serve all terminals from Victoria (60–90 min, £6–10). Black cabs cost £50–90 to central London depending on traffic and time of day.

Mild maritime climate. Summers average 18–23°C with long daylight hours. Winters are 2–7°C, rarely below freezing. Rain is frequent year-round but rarely heavy. Pack layers and a waterproof jacket regardless of season. Fog can disrupt flights November through February.
