Thai passport holders enter Taiwan visa-free for up to 14 days under a trial visa exemption program extended through July 31, 2026. No advance application is needed. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry. You need a return or onward ticket, proof of accommodation, and evidence of sufficient funds (credit card statement or cash equivalent to $1,000). At Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), immigration stamps you in after checking these documents.
The 14-day visa-free stay cannot be extended. For stays beyond 14 days, apply for a visitor visa at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Bangkok before departure. The visitor visa costs TWD 2,200 (about THB 2,500) for a single entry valid for 60 days. Taiwan periodically reviews and renews the visa-free trial for Thai nationals, so confirm the program status before booking if traveling close to the July 2026 expiry date.
