Dutch passport holders travel to the US under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) using ESTA. Apply at esta.cbp.dhs.gov at least 72 hours before departure. ESTA costs USD 21 (about EUR 20), is valid for 2 years or until your passport expires, and allows multiple entries of up to 90 days each. Your passport must be machine-readable and have an electronic chip (all modern Dutch passports qualify). If ESTA is denied, you need a B-1/B-2 visa from the US Embassy in Amsterdam.

Intercity and Sprinter trains run directly to Schiphol Plaza (the station is inside the terminal) from Amsterdam Centraal every 10–15 minutes (15 min, €5.70). The Intercity Direct from Rotterdam takes 43 minutes (€17.40 with supplement). Trains from The Hague take 35–45 minutes.
Taxis from central Amsterdam cost €35–50 and take 20–35 minutes. Highway A4 is frequently congested during morning rush. Bus 397 runs from Amsterdam Leidseplein to Schiphol (30 min, €5.50) for a cheaper landside alternative.
Uber and Lyft from RDU to downtown Raleigh cost $20–30 (20–25 min); to downtown Durham: $18–25 (15–20 min). Pickup zones are on the lower level at both Terminal 1 and Terminal 2. Taxis are available at the curb ($30–40 to Raleigh).GoTriangle Route 100 ($2.25) is a budget option to downtown Raleigh and Durham; check hours before relying on it for evening or early-morning flights. Rental car desks are in the terminal buildings with cars in the adjacent garage. Chapel Hill is 20–25 minutes via US-15-501.
