Warsaw to Doha (WAW–DOH) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

Polish passport holders enter Qatar visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry. At Hamad International Airport (DOH), you receive a stamp at immigration. The process is fast, typically under 10 minutes. No return ticket is formally required, but have your itinerary accessible.

Qatar also offers a free transit visa for up to 96 hours if you are connecting through Doha on Qatar Airways. This is separate from the 90-day visa-free entry and does not require advance registration. If you want to leave the airport during a long layover, just proceed to immigration and get stamped in. Qatar has no restrictions on dress code at immigration, but modest clothing is expected in public spaces, especially at mosques and government buildings.

Direct flights from Warsaw to Doha run about 5 hours 30 minutes on Qatar Airways and LOT Polish Airlines (codeshare). Qatar uses the Qatari riyal (QAR), pegged at 3.64 QAR per $1, or about 0.93 QAR per PLN 1. Card payments work everywhere. No mandatory vaccinations. The Doha Metro covers Red, Green, and Gold lines at QAR 2 per standard ride (about PLN 2.15). Taxis from DOH to central Doha cost QAR 40 to QAR 60 (PLN 43 to PLN 65). Summer temperatures exceed 45 degrees Celsius from June to September. The cooler months (November to March) are more comfortable at 20 to 30 degrees.

SKM (Szybka Kolej Miejska) commuter rail Line S2/S3 connects Warsaw Central (Warszawa Centralna) to WAW in 25 minutes (PLN 4.40 within Zone 1, or PLN 7.00 including Zone 2). Trains depart roughly every 15–30 minutes. The platform is directly below the terminal; no bus transfer needed.Bus lines 175, 188, and N32 (night) serve the city center for PLN 4.40. Taxis cost PLN 40–60 from the center (20–30 min). Uber and Bolt (dominant ride-share in Poland) run PLN 30–50. Parking from PLN 30/day in the remote car park.

Doha Metro Gold Line departs from inside the terminal to the city centre (15–20 min, QAR 3–6). Msheireb station is the interchange for connecting to the Red and Green lines. First train is at 6am; late-night arrivals will need a taxi or ride-hail. Karwa taxis are available at the arrivals area; West Bay costs QAR 30–50.Careem and Uber are the most cost-effective options. Hamad International has no separate rental car facility visible from arrivals; rental desks are landside. The airport is 15 km from central Doha with good road access via the Corniche and Lusail Expressway.

Desert climate, similar to Dubai. Summers (June–September) are intensely hot (37–45°C) with very high humidity. Ground operations slow but flights rarely cancel for heat alone. Dust haze is persistent and occasionally reduces visibility below instrument minimums. Winter (November–March) is pleasant at 15–26°C and represents Qatar Airways' peak operational period.

Rain is rare, fewer than 10 rainy days per year, but the drainage infrastructure means even light rain causes road flooding. Occasional dust storms (shamal) reduce visibility and can ground departures for hours. Spring (March–May) is the most dust-prone season.
