British passport holders enter Norway (Schengen Area) visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day rolling period. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond the planned departure date with at least two blank pages. UK passports are stamped on entry and exit.

No supporting documents are mandatory, but border officers can ask for proof of accommodation, onward travel, and sufficient funds. The 90-day allowance is shared across all 29 Schengen countries. ETIAS pre-travel authorization (EUR 7, valid 3 years) is expected to become mandatory in late 2026.

Direct flights from London to Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) run about 2 hours on SAS, Norwegian, and British Airways. Routes to Bergen (BGO) and Stavanger (SVG) are also available direct. Norway uses the Norwegian krone (NOK), trading at roughly 10.5 NOK per $1. Norway is not in the EU but is in the Schengen Area. Card payments work virtually everywhere, even for small amounts; many places do not accept cash at all. No vaccination requirements. Norway is expensive: a beer in a bar costs NOK 90 to 120 (about $9 to $12), a basic restaurant meal NOK 200 to 300.
