British passport holders enter Cyprus visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day period. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry (Cyprus applies a stricter validity rule than most EU states). A passport, not a national ID card, is required for UK nationals post-Brexit.

Cyprus is an EU member but not in the Schengen Area. Time spent in Cyprus does not count against your Schengen 90/180-day clock, and vice versa. This makes Cyprus useful for extended Mediterranean stays alongside Schengen time. Border officers may ask for proof of accommodation, return travel, and sufficient funds (no fixed minimum).

Direct flights from London to Larnaca (LCA) or Paphos (PFO) run about 4 hours 30 minutes. Multiple airlines operate year-round including British Airways, Wizz Air, easyJet, and Ryanair. Cyprus uses the euro. The UK retains two Sovereign Base Areas (Akrotiri and Dhekelia) on the island, but these have no separate immigration process for visitors. No vaccination requirements for UK arrivals. Crossing to Northern Cyprus from the Republic is possible at several checkpoints with your passport.
