Chinese passport holders need a Schengen visa to enter Germany. Apply at the German embassy or a VFS Global visa centre in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chengdu, or Shenyang. The short-stay visa costs EUR 80 and allows stays up to 90 days within a 180-day window. Processing takes 10 to 15 calendar days on average.
Required documents: completed application form, two biometric photos, travel medical insurance with EUR 30,000 minimum coverage, round-trip flight reservation, proof of accommodation, and proof of financial means. Bank statements from the last 3 months are standard. Employment letters with salary and approved leave dates are expected for employed applicants.
