Roatán (RTB) has direct flights from Miami and Houston. Honduras uses the Honduran lempira (HNL), trading at roughly 25 HNL per $1. US dollars are accepted on the Bay Islands and at tourist businesses on the mainland. ATMs are common in cities. Card payments work at hotels and restaurants. Water taxis connect La Ceiba on the mainland to Roatán and Utila: the Roatán ferry costs about HNL 1,000 ($40) round trip and takes 1 hour 15 minutes.
