Las Vegas to Dublin (LAS–DUB) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

US passport holders enter Ireland visa-free for up to 90 days. No advance application is needed. Ireland is an EU member but not in the Schengen area, so time spent in Ireland does not count against any Schengen 90-day limit. Passport must be valid for the duration of the stay (Ireland has no minimum validity requirement beyond the trip dates). At Dublin Airport (DUB), Shannon (SNN), or Cork (ORK), immigration stamps your passport and may ask about your accommodation and return plans.

Ireland is part of the Common Travel Area (CTA) with the United Kingdom, Jersey, Guernsey, and the Isle of Man. There are no routine immigration checks on travel between Ireland and the UK, but you still need valid identification. Northern Ireland (part of the UK) is freely accessible from the Republic with no border controls. The Wild Atlantic Way (2,500km coastal driving route) and the Ring of Kerry are among Europe's best road trips.

Direct flights from New York JFK to Dublin run about 6 hours 30 minutes on Aer Lingus, Delta, and United. Boston (BOS) to Dublin runs about 5 hours 30 minutes. Direct service also operates from Chicago, Newark, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Washington Dulles. Ireland uses the euro, trading at roughly $1.08 per EUR 1. The Leap Card works on Dublin Bus, Luas tram, and DART commuter rail at EUR 1.70 to EUR 3.30 per trip. The Airlink Express bus 747 runs from Dublin Airport to the city center in 30 minutes for EUR 8 ($8.65). Pub culture is part of daily life: a pint costs EUR 5.50 to EUR 7.50 ($5.95 to $8.10) depending on location.

The airport is 5 miles from the Strip; ride-shares and taxis take 10–20 minutes from the Strip ($15–25). There is no rail link.The Las Vegas Monorail does not serve the airport. RTC bus Route 109 connects the airport to the Strip ($2, 20–30 min), but luggage handling is inconvenient. Hotel shuttles from major resorts are the most hassle-free option and often free for guests.

Airlink 747 coaches depart from outside both terminals every 10–15 minutes to the city centre (€7 one-way). Dublin Bus routes 16 and 41 are cheaper (€3.10 with Leap card) but slower, taking 45–70 minutes. Taxis are metered; expect €25–40 to the city centre depending on traffic and time of day.

Rental car desks are located in both terminal buildings with a large multi-storey car park adjacent. For north-side city destinations, the airport is relatively quick via the Port Tunnel; south-side journeys add considerable time during peak hours.

Temperate oceanic climate with mild, wet weather year-round. Summers (June–August) are cool and frequently overcast, with highs of 17–21°C. Winters are mild (3–9°C) with frequent rain but rarely frost or snow. Fog can affect operations in autumn and winter, particularly early mornings.

Wind is the primary disruption risk. Atlantic storms from October through March can cause ground stops and diverts. Pack a waterproof layer regardless of season; dry, sunny days occur but rarely in long stretches.
