Saudi passport holders need a Schengen visa to enter Germany. Apply at the German Embassy in Riyadh or the Consulate General in Jeddah. Required documents: passport valid for at least 3 months beyond departure from the Schengen area with two blank pages, completed application form, two biometric photos, travel medical insurance covering EUR 30,000, flight reservation, hotel booking or invitation letter, bank statements for the last 3 months, and an employment or business letter. Germany is one of the top Schengen destinations for Saudi applicants, and the visa covers all 27 Schengen countries.

Direct flights from Riyadh to Frankfurt run about 5 hours 30 minutes on Saudia and Lufthansa. Jeddah to Frankfurt and Munich are also served. Germany uses the euro, trading at roughly 3.95 SAR per EUR 1. Card payments work at most businesses, but smaller shops, bakeries, and some restaurants remain cash-only, so carry EUR notes. No mandatory vaccinations. Frankfurt's S-Bahn from the airport to the city center takes 11 minutes at EUR 5.35. Berlin, Munich, and Dusseldorf all have Arabic-speaking communities and halal dining options. The Deutschland-Ticket covers all regional trains and local transit nationwide for EUR 49 per month.

The Haramain High Speed Railway connects JED Airport Station to Jeddah city (King Abdullah Station) in about 15 minutes (SAR 20–25). The same line runs to Mecca and Medina, making it useful for Hajj and Umrah travelers.Taxis from central Jeddah cost SAR 60–100 and take 25–45 minutes. Uber and Careem operate widely and typically run SAR 40–80. Driving yourself is straightforward; the airport is well signed from King Abdulaziz Road and the Ring Road.

The Airport Express (FEX) to Berlin Hauptbahnhof takes 30 minutes and costs €3.80 with a standard ABC-zone ticket (covered by the Berlin Welcome Card). Departs every 30 minutes. S9 to Spandau or Westkreuz also works (45–50 min, same fare).

Taxis to Mitte: €40–55 (35–50 min). Uber: €30–45. The train platforms are in the basement of Terminal 1; follow the "S-Bahn/FEX" signs from baggage claim. Rental car desks are in Terminal 1 arrivals. Regional trains to Magdeburg, Dresden, and Leipzig also stop at BER airport station.

Humid continental climate with warm summers and cold winters. Berlin winters (December–February) average −2–4°C with occasional snow and freezing rain. De-icing delays are routine in January and February but rarely cause mass cancellations. The airport's recent construction means modern de-icing infrastructure.

Summers (June–August) are warm at 22–28°C with afternoon thunderstorms possible in July. Spring and autumn are mild (10–18°C) and operationally stable. Strong westerly winds can make approaches to BER gusty. Overall disruption risk is moderate.
