Seoul to Dubai (ICN–DXB) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

South Korean passport holders enter the United Arab Emirates visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry with one blank page. At Dubai (DXB) or Abu Dhabi (AUH), immigration processing is fast, with smart gates available for repeat visitors. No proof of accommodation or return ticket is routinely requested.

The 90-day allowance resets after each 180-day period. If you overstay, fines start at AED 100 per day for the first day and AED 200 per day after that. For work or long-term residence, an employer or sponsor must arrange a residence visa. Tourist extensions beyond 90 days are not available without exiting and re-entering.

Direct flights from Seoul Incheon (ICN) to Dubai run about 9 hours 30 minutes on Emirates, Korean Air, and Asiana. Abu Dhabi is about 9 hours 15 minutes on Etihad. The UAE uses the UAE dirham (AED), pegged to the US dollar at AED 3.673 per $1, trading at roughly 0.0026 AED per KRW. Dubai Metro covers two lines (Red and Green), with fares from AED 4 to AED 8.50 using a Nol card. No vaccination requirements. Alcohol is available at licensed hotels, bars, and restaurants. Duty-free shops at DXB have some of the lowest liquor prices in the region.

AREX (Airport Railroad Express) runs two services from Seoul Station: the Direct Train (43 min, ₩11,000, reserved seats) and the All-Stop train (66 min, ₩4,550, unreserved). Both trains serve T1 first, then T2; confirm which terminal your airline uses before boarding.Limousine buses depart from major Seoul neighborhoods and hotels (₩16,000–18,000, 60–90 min depending on traffic). KAL and LIMOUSINE services are reliable. Taxis from central Seoul cost ₩65,000–80,000 and take 60–90 minutes. Deluxe (black) taxis are pricier but English-speaking drivers are more common.

Metro Red Line from T1 (Airport Terminal 1 station) or T3 (Airport Terminal 3 station) to central Dubai. BurJuman: 20 min; Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa: 23 min. Fare is AED 6.50–10. Metro runs from 5:30am; early morning arrivals may need to wait. T2 is not served by metro; RTA buses run to Al Ghubaiba (Bus 402) for AED 3.Taxis from DXB to Downtown Dubai cost AED 35–55 (airport taxi surcharge applies). Careem and Uber operate from designated zones. Ride-hails must be booked via app; street hailing is not permitted in terminal areas.

Desert climate, hot, dry, and sunny virtually year-round. Summers (June–September) are extreme: 38–48°C with high humidity near the coast. Heat stress slows ground operations but rarely causes weather cancellations. Winter (December–February) is DXB's peak season at 18–28°C with minimal rain and near-constant sunshine.

Occasional sandstorms (haboob) reduce visibility sharply and can ground flights for hours, most likely in spring (April–May) and summer. Light rain falls in winter and can cause road flooding on Dubai's drainage-limited road network. A light jacket is sufficient for winter evenings.
