South Korean passport holders enter Spain visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen area. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen zone.

Your passport is stamped on first entry into the Schengen area. The 90-day clock runs across all 27 Schengen countries, not just Spain. For longer stays, South Korea has a Working Holiday agreement with Spain (ages 18 to 30, 1-year stay). Student and work visas are processed at the Spanish Embassy in Seoul, taking 4 to 8 weeks. Spain's Digital Nomad Visa allows remote workers to stay up to 5 years with proof of EUR 28,800 annual income.

Direct flights from Seoul Incheon to Madrid run about 13 hours on Korean Air (seasonal). Year-round connections through Paris, Frankfurt, Istanbul, or Helsinki to Barcelona and other Spanish cities add 3 to 6 hours. Spain uses the euro. No mandatory vaccinations. Spanish meal times run late: lunch is 2:00 to 4:00 PM, dinner starts at 9:00 PM, and many restaurants do not open for dinner before 8:30 PM. Shops in smaller cities close during siesta (2:00 to 5:00 PM). Metro fares in Madrid start at EUR 1.50 per ride, and the Renfe AVE high-speed train connects Madrid to Barcelona in 2 hours 30 minutes for EUR 25 to EUR 80.

AREX (Airport Railroad Express) runs two services from Seoul Station: the Direct Train (43 min, ₩11,000, reserved seats) and the All-Stop train (66 min, ₩4,550, unreserved). Both trains serve T1 first, then T2; confirm which terminal your airline uses before boarding.Limousine buses depart from major Seoul neighborhoods and hotels (₩16,000–18,000, 60–90 min depending on traffic). KAL and LIMOUSINE services are reliable. Taxis from central Seoul cost ₩65,000–80,000 and take 60–90 minutes. Deluxe (black) taxis are pricier but English-speaking drivers are more common.

Aerobus coaches depart T1 and T2 every 5 minutes to Plaça de Catalunya (35 min, €6.75). Running from 5:00am to 1:00am, they serve the widest range of city-centre destinations. RENFE R2 Nord commuter trains serve T2 only (T1 requires a free inter-terminal bus); trains to Sants take 19 minutes (€4.60).Taxis use a fixed rate: €39 to the city centre (all zones, flat rate). Ride-shares vary. Car rental desks are in T1 arrivals. T1 and T2 are separate buildings; confirm your terminal before booking transport.

Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot and sunny (28–32°C) with low humidity and rare disruptions. July and August are peak travel season with reliable flying weather. Winters are mild (8–15°C) with occasional rain, rarely cold enough for frost or snow.

Spring and fall bring the highest rainfall risk. October can see heavy downpours. Sea fog in early morning occasionally reduces visibility at the airport but clears quickly.
