US passport holders enter Jersey visa-free for up to 6 months. Jersey is a British Crown Dependency and follows UK immigration rules. No advance application is needed. Jersey is not part of the UK or the EU. It has its own parliament (the States Assembly), tax system, and legal framework. VAT does not apply in Jersey, making it a duty-free destination for certain goods. The island is 9 miles by 5 miles with a coastline of dramatic cliffs, sandy bays, and one of the largest tidal ranges in the world. Jersey War Tunnels, built during the German occupation in World War II, are the island's most visited historical site.

No direct flights connect the US to Jersey. Route through London Gatwick (about 1 hour to JER on easyJet or British Airways), London City, or Southampton (30 minutes on Blue Islands). Condor Ferries connects Jersey to Saint-Malo, France (1 hour 20 minutes by high-speed ferry) and Poole, England (4 hours 30 minutes). Total travel time from the US East Coast runs 9 to 13 hours. Jersey uses the Jersey pound (JEP), issued at par with the British pound sterling. UK banknotes and coins are accepted everywhere. Card payments work at most businesses. Jersey notes are not accepted in the UK, so spend or exchange them before departing. Local buses cover the island at GBP 2 per single trip or GBP 25 for a 7-day pass.

IAH has no direct rail link to downtown Houston. The IAH Express bus runs from Houston Amtrak/Greyhound station via Park & Ride to Terminal C (60–90 min, $1.25 with METRO Q card). This is the only transit option; Houston's rail network does not reach the airport.Taxis from downtown Houston cost $50–70 and take 40–60 minutes. Ride-hails (Uber, Lyft) are typically $35–55. IAH sits 23 miles north of downtown on the North Freeway (I-45); traffic is heavy during morning and evening rush. Remote economy parking lots serve all terminals via shuttle.
