Self-employed applicants need business registration, tax filings, and client contracts. Strong ties to India (property, family, employment) reduce refusal risk. The UK is not part of the Schengen Area, so a Schengen visa does not cover UK entry.

Direct flights from Delhi and Mumbai to London Heathrow run 8 hours 30 minutes to 9 hours 30 minutes on Air India, British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic. Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kochi connect via nonstop or one-stop routes. The UK uses the British pound (GBP). No mandatory vaccinations. The Heathrow Express to Paddington Station takes 15 minutes for GBP 25 (book online for cheaper advance fares). The Elizabeth Line from Heathrow to central London costs GBP 12.80 (peak) or GBP 11.20 (off-peak) with Oyster/contactless. UK immigration uses eGates for ePassport holders from select countries, but Indian passports go through staffed desks.

Rail from Manchester Airport station (between Terminals 1/2 and 3, connected by free shuttle bus) to Manchester Piccadilly takes 20 minutes (£4.80 off-peak). Metrolink tram is slower (55 min) but cheaper and connects to suburbs not served by rail. Long-distance trains depart directly from the airport station to Liverpool (55 min), Leeds (80 min), and other northern cities.Taxis from arrivals cost £25–40 to the city centre; Uber operates from a designated zone. Temperate maritime climate. Among the wettest of any major UK airport. Rain is possible in any month. Manchester averages over 200 rainy days per year.
