Egyptian passport holders enter Jordan visa-free for up to 30 days. No advance authorization is required. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry. Immigration officials will stamp the passport on arrival. Extensions can be arranged through local police stations before the initial period expires.
Cairo has no direct rail link to the airport yet. Metro Line 3 terminates at Adly Mansour station, still several kilometers short of CAI. From Adly Mansour, taxis or ride-hails cover the remaining distance in 15-20 minutes. Uber and Careem from downtown Cairo to the airport cost EGP 100-200 and take 45-60 minutes outside rush hour. Rush hour (7:00-10:00, 16:00-20:00) on the Ring Road can double that.
Yellow metered taxis charge EGP 150-300 depending on your starting point. Old black-and-white taxis lack meters, so agree on a price before getting in. CTA public buses 356, 400, and 1138 run from central Cairo to the airport (EGP 5-25) but are slow and crowded. Airport shuttle buses from major hotels cost EGP 25-50. For reliability, Uber or Careem with a pre-set fare is the path of least friction.
