At Queen Alia International Airport (AMM) in Amman, Saudi nationals go through immigration quickly. The land borders at Al Haditha/Al Omari (Durra crossing) and Al Mudawwara are also open, with drive times from Tabuk to Amman running about 8 hours and Arar to Amman about 6 hours.

Jordan and Saudi Arabia share a 731 km land border and close cultural ties. Arabic is spoken in both countries with easily understood dialect differences. Saudi-registered vehicles can cross the land border with valid registration, insurance, and a customs carnet. For stays beyond 3 months, register at the nearest police station. The Jordan Pass (JOD 70 to JOD 80) covers entry to Petra and 40+ other attractions and waives the standard JOD 40 tourist visa fee, though Saudi nationals do not need the visa waiver benefit.

Jordan uses the Jordanian dinar (JOD), trading at roughly 0.19 JOD per SAR 1 (or about 5.30 SAR per JOD 1). Card payments work at hotels and restaurants in Amman and Aqaba. Carry cash for taxis, local shops, and Petra vendors. No mandatory vaccinations. The JETT bus connects Amman to Petra (3 hours, JOD 11) and Amman to Aqaba (4 hours, JOD 9). Uber and Careem operate in Amman. The Dead Sea is 45 minutes from Amman by car.
