When it's 6:00 PM in Zaragoza, it's 10:00 AM in Guatemala City.
Spanish passport holders enter Guatemala visa-free for up to 90 days. Guatemala is part of the CA-4 agreement with Honduras, El Salvador, and Nicaragua, so the 90-day clock is shared across all four countries. Time spent in Honduras counts against your Guatemala allowance and vice versa. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry.
The 90-day CA-4 period can be extended for another 90 days at a Guatemalan immigration office (Direccion General de Migracion) in Guatemala City. The extension fee is around GTQ 200. After 180 total days in the CA-4 zone, you must leave the bloc entirely. A trip to Mexico or Belize resets the clock.
At the airport, you fill out a customs and immigration card. Keep the departure portion. Guatemala charges no departure tax at the airport since it is included in airline tickets. Most flights from Spain connect through Mexico City, Miami, or Houston.
