Trains run every 6–8 minutes from 05:00 to 01:00.Taxis to the airport from downtown cost CAD $35–45; Uber and Lyft operate from a designated ride-share zone at the Domestic and International terminals. Driving via Highway 99 South takes 20–35 minutes in normal traffic; budget more during evening rush on the Oak Street Bridge approach.
Metro Line 10 from the airport to Jiaochangkou (city centre) takes 35–45 minutes (¥6–8) and runs until around 11pm. Transfers to Lines 1, 2, 3, 6 provide extensive city coverage. Winter and early spring mornings often produce dense fog (2–12°C) that delays or diverts departures.
Overcast skies are the norm for most of the year; Chongqing averages among the fewest sunshine days of any major Chinese city. Autumn (October–November) offers the clearest weather. Pollution combined with fog can produce severe visibility reductions in winter. Pack layers for the dramatic temperature drops that occur with elevation changes in the surrounding mountains.
