Xiamen Metro Line 3 connects the airport to the city centre and Xiamen North Railway Station in 30–40 minutes for CNY 6–8. Airport shuttle buses also serve the ferry terminal and major hotels for CNY 20. The airport is on Xiamen Island, about 12 km from the city centre.DiDi and taxis from downtown cost CNY 40–70 depending on traffic and origin. Driving via Huli Avenue to the airport takes 20–35 minutes. Note that Xiamen Island has limited road capacity on key arteries; evening peak hours can add significant time.
Rail from Manchester Airport station (between Terminals 1/2 and 3, connected by free shuttle bus) to Manchester Piccadilly takes 20 minutes (£4.80 off-peak). Metrolink tram is slower (55 min) but cheaper and connects to suburbs not served by rail. Long-distance trains depart directly from the airport station to Liverpool (55 min), Leeds (80 min), and other northern cities.Taxis from arrivals cost £25–40 to the city centre; Uber operates from a designated zone. The Skylink bus connects all three terminals. Rental car desks are in the terminal buildings.

Winters (November–February) are cool and grey at 3–9°C, with occasional fog delaying operations and infrequent but disruptive snow. Summers are mild at 18–24°C with unpredictable showers.
Wind from the west and southwest is the most common operational disruption. Rare but severe winter ice events can cause significant delays. Pack waterproofs year-round. A warm layer is useful even in August.
