Warsaw to Tbilisi (WAW–TBS) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

Polish passport holders can enter Georgia visa-free for up to 1 year. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for the duration of your stay. At Tbilisi (TBS) or Kutaisi (KUT) immigration, you receive a stamp allowing 365 days. No return ticket, accommodation proof, or financial evidence is required at the border. Georgia has one of the most open visa policies in the world for EU citizens.

The 1-year stay does not grant work rights. For employment, you need a work permit or residence permit. After 360 days, exit and re-enter to reset the 1-year clock (there is no mandatory gap between stays). If you plan to stay long-term, apply for a temporary residence permit at the Public Service Hall in Tbilisi, which costs GEL 210 (about PLN 330) and is processed in 30 days.

Wizz Air flies direct from Warsaw and Katowice to Kutaisi in about 3 hours 30 minutes. LOT operates Warsaw to Tbilisi in about 4 hours. Kutaisi is 230 km from Tbilisi (4 hours by bus, GEL 15 to GEL 20). Georgia uses the Georgian lari (GEL), trading at roughly 1.5 GEL per PLN 1 or 2.7 GEL per USD 1. Card payments work in Tbilisi and Batumi, but carry cash for rural areas and marshrutkas (minibuses). No mandatory vaccinations. Georgian food and wine are exceptional, and a full restaurant meal in Tbilisi costs GEL 30 to GEL 50 (PLN 50 to PLN 85).

SKM (Szybka Kolej Miejska) commuter rail Line S2/S3 connects Warsaw Central (Warszawa Centralna) to WAW in 25 minutes (PLN 4.40 within Zone 1, or PLN 7.00 including Zone 2). Trains depart roughly every 15–30 minutes. The platform is directly below the terminal; no bus transfer needed.Bus lines 175, 188, and N32 (night) serve the city center for PLN 4.40. Taxis cost PLN 40–60 from the center (20–30 min). Uber and Bolt (dominant ride-share in Poland) run PLN 30–50. Parking from PLN 30/day in the remote car park.
