Thai passport holders enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 30 days under the ASEAN bilateral agreement. No advance application is needed. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry. A return or onward ticket is required and checked by airlines before boarding. You receive a stamp at immigration.

At Manila Ninoy Aquino (MNL), Cebu Mactan (CEB), or Clark (CRK), the process is fast for ASEAN passport holders. The 30-day stay can be extended at any Bureau of Immigration office for another 29 days (PHP 3,030, about THB 1,900). Further monthly extensions are possible up to a maximum of 3 years. The eTravel registration form at etravel.gov.ph must be completed within 72 hours before arrival.

Direct flights from Bangkok (BKK or DMK) to Manila run about 3 hours on Philippine Airlines, Thai Airways, Cebu Pacific, and Thai AirAsia. Bangkok to Cebu runs about 3 hours 30 minutes. The Philippines uses the Philippine peso (PHP), trading at roughly 0.63 PHP per THB 1 (or about 1.6 THB per PHP 1). Grab is the dominant ride-hailing app in Manila, Cebu, and other major cities. Jeepneys (PHP 13 per ride in Manila, about THB 8) are the local transit icon. GCash and Maya are widely used for cashless payments at convenience stores, restaurants, and markets.

Metered yellow taxis depart from each terminal's designated taxi queue; flag fall ₱70 plus meter. Confirm the driver uses the meter before entering; insist on it. Grab (Philippines ride-share) is a reliable alternative at ₱200–450 to Makati or BGC.Terminal 1, 2, 3, and 4 are not connected by a common transit link; confirm which terminal you arrive at well in advance. To BGC: ₱200–350, 20–40 min off-peak. To Manila Hotel area: ₱150–200, 30–60 min. Rental cars are available but driving in Manila is not recommended for the unfamiliar.

Tropical climate with a pronounced wet season (June–November) and dry season (December–May). The wet season brings typhoons. MNL experiences some of the highest disruption rates of any major hub during this period. Cancellations and long delays are common when typhoons make landfall in Luzon.

Temperatures year-round range 25–35°C. The hot dry season (March–May) is uncomfortable but operationally stable. December through February is the most pleasant period at 24–30°C with low humidity. Monsoon rains cause frequent flooding on approach roads from June through October. Add extra ground transport time during this period.
