Visa & Entry

Spanish passport holders receive a free visa on arrival at Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport. The visa allows a stay of up to 30 days (extendable to 90 days). Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from entry and must not contain any Israeli stamps or entry cards. Lebanon denies entry to travelers with evidence of travel to Israel. Since Israel stopped stamping passports in 2013 and issues blue cards instead, this is mainly a concern if you have older stamps.

The visa-on-arrival is a single stamp at the immigration counter. No forms, no fee, no photos. The process takes a few minutes. If you want to stay beyond 30 days, visit the General Security office (Amn al-Aam) in Beirut before your 30 days expire. The extension to 90 days is usually granted without difficulty and costs around LBP 50,000.Lebanon has experienced periods of instability. If traveling, register with the Spanish embassy in Beirut. Carry your passport at all times. Military checkpoints exist in some areas, especially near the southern border and in the Bekaa Valley.
