The registration costs EUR 15 and requires proof of employment, self-employment, or sufficient funds, plus health insurance. The certificate is issued on the spot. You will also need a NIF (tax number) from the Financas office for renting property, opening a bank account, or signing any contract in Portugal.
Metro Red Line directly from the airport station to central Lisbon in 20–25 minutes (€1.85 single). Most central destinations (Rossio, Baixa-Chiado, Oriente) are reachable within 30 minutes total. Operating hours 6:30am to 1am.Taxis cost €10–15 to the city centre. Uber and Bolt are cheaper still at €8–12. AeroBus to Marquês de Pombal costs €4. The airport is just 7km from the city centre; ground transport is fast by European standards.
Mediterranean climate. Summers are hot and sunny (28–35°C) with almost no rain. July and August rarely see any precipitation and offer the most reliable flying weather in Europe. Winters are mild and rainy (8–15°C), with the wettest months December through February.
