All major rental car companies operate from TFS; desks are in the arrivals hall with cars in the adjacent lot. The TF-1 motorway connects the airport directly to resort zones and the capital.

The dominant disruption risk is the Calima, a hot, dusty wind from the Sahara (typically February and July–August) that reduces visibility and occasionally causes diversions. Wind on approach can be strong due to the island's volcanic terrain creating turbulence. TFS is among the most reliable airports in Europe operationally.
