No nonstop flights connect the US mainland to the BVI. Route through San Juan, Puerto Rico (about 35 minutes to EIS on Cape Air or InterCaribbean), St Thomas in the USVI (then a 30 to 45 minute ferry from Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook to Road Town, Tortola), or Antigua. The ferry from St Thomas is the most popular entry point: Road Town Fast Ferry and Native Son run frequent service for $30 to $55 one way. The BVI uses the US dollar as its official currency. Card payments work at resorts and restaurants. ATMs are available in Road Town and Spanish Town on Virgin Gorda.
