Japanese passport holders enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 30 days. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry with one blank page. You need a return or onward ticket departing the Philippines within 30 days. Without one, airlines may deny boarding. Extensions of up to 59 days are available at any Bureau of Immigration office for PHP 3,030.

The eTravel system at etravel.gov.ph must be completed within 72 hours before arrival. It is free and generates a QR code scanned at immigration. At Manila (MNL) or Cebu (CEB), immigration processing for Japanese nationals is quick, though Manila's NAIA Terminal 1 can be congested during peak evening arrivals (6 PM to 10 PM).

Direct flights from Tokyo Narita and Haneda to Manila run about 4 hours 30 minutes on Philippine Airlines, ANA, JAL, and Cebu Pacific. Osaka Kansai, Nagoya, and Fukuoka also have direct service to Manila and Cebu. The Philippines uses the Philippine peso (PHP), trading at roughly 0.38 PHP per JPY. No mandatory vaccinations. Grab is the standard ride-hail app in Metro Manila and Cebu. Airport-to-city transfer from NAIA to Makati costs PHP 200 to PHP 400 by Grab, or take the BGC bus for PHP 55.

The Narita Express (N'EX) runs from Tokyo Station to Narita Airport in 60 minutes, with stops at Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Yokohama (¥3,070 one-way from Tokyo; discounted round-trip tickets available). Keisei Skyliner from Ueno takes 41 minutes to Terminal 1 (¥2,570); the faster option from east-side Tokyo. Keisei Limited Express is slower (80 min) but cheaper at ¥1,290.Limousine buses depart from major Tokyo hotels and stations for ¥3,200 and take 75–105 minutes depending on traffic. Taxis are extremely expensive (¥20,000–30,000+); avoid unless cost is no concern. The airport is 60 km from central Tokyo.
