US passport holders enter Spain visa-free for stays up to 90 days within any 180-day period. This falls under the Schengen area rules, so the 90-day limit is shared across all Schengen countries. Metro Blue Line light rail runs from downtown Minneapolis (Warehouse District/Hennepin station) to T1-Lindbergh in 25–28 minutes ($2.50). The line also connects the Mall of America (Bloomington) in 13 minutes to the same station. T2-Humphrey (primarily Sun Country and charter flights) requires a free shuttle from T1 or a direct Blue Line stop at the Terminal 2-Humphrey station.Taxis and ride-hails from downtown Minneapolis cost $25–40 and take 15–30 minutes. The airport is conveniently close to both downtowns; St. Paul is 10–15 minutes by car.

The C-1 Cercanías train to Málaga Centro-Alameda costs €1.80 and takes 12 minutes. Platforms in Terminal 3 are accessible via the connecting corridor. Run every 20–30 minutes.Taxis to Málaga center: €15–20. To Marbella: €60–80 (45–60 min). To Torremolinos or Benalmádena: €15–25. Rental car desks are in the arrivals hall; the N-340 coastal road provides good access to resort towns.

Mediterranean climate. One of the sunniest airports in Europe. Summers (June–September) are hot and dry at 28–36°C; virtually no rain and minimal disruption risk. Winters are mild at 10–18°C with occasional rain, rarely causing serious delays.

The Levante (easterly wind) can cause turbulence on approach, particularly in autumn. November through January sees the most rainfall. The airport handles heavy seasonal traffic peaks in July and August. Arrive early for check-in during summer.
