Madrid to Singapore (MAD–SIN) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

Spanish passport holders enter Singapore visa-free for up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. Starting 2024, all visitors must complete the SG Arrival Card online (within 3 days before arrival) at the ICA website. No fee is charged. You receive an e-pass instead of a passport stamp.

The initial stay granted is usually 30 days. To get the full 90 days, request it at the ICA office in Singapore or apply for an extension online before your initial period expires. Extensions are free but not guaranteed.

Singapore enforces strict import rules. Bringing in chewing gum, vapes, or e-cigarettes is illegal. Duty-free alcohol is limited to 1 liter each of spirits, wine, and beer. Cigarettes have no duty-free allowance. Every cigarette pack must carry a Singapore duty-paid stamp (SDPC). Fines for violations start at SGD 200 and go up fast.

Metro Line 8 runs from Nuevos Ministerios (central Madrid) to T1/T2/T3 in 12–15 minutes (€6, including the airport supplement). T4 requires an additional free shuttle from T2; add 10 minutes. The Cercanías commuter train (Line C-1) reaches T4 from Atocha station in 25 minutes (€2.60, no supplement).Taxis have a fixed fare of €30 from central Madrid zones. The ride is typically 20–35 minutes depending on traffic. Avenida de América bus hub serves several airport bus routes (€5).

MRT from T1/T2/T3 to City Hall takes about 30 minutes (S$2.20–2.50 with EZ-Link card). Trains run from 5:31am to midnight. For Terminal 4, take the free inter-terminal shuttle bus to T2 first.

Taxis from arrivals cost S$20–35 to Orchard or Marina Bay, including airport surcharge (S$5) and possible peak surcharges. Grab is cheaper and very reliable in Singapore. Coach buses serve Johor Bahru (Malaysia) from the airport.

Equatorial climate with no true seasons, hot (26–33°C) and humid year-round. Changi is one of the most reliable airports in Asia for flight operations: thunderstorm cells are intense but brief, typically clearing within 1–2 hours. Most delays are weather-related and short.

Northeast monsoon (November–January) brings the most consistent rain, sometimes for days at a time. Haze from Indonesian forest fires (typically August–October) occasionally reduces visibility and triggers air quality warnings, but rarely grounds flights. Changi's operational efficiency means it handles weather disruptions better than most airports its size.
