Spanish passport holders enter Mexico visa-free for up to 180 days. Your passport must be valid for the duration of your stay. At the airport you fill out a Forma Migratoria Multiple (FMM), which is now electronic for air arrivals. The immigration officer decides how many days to grant, so state your full intended stay clearly.

There is no fee for the FMM if you stay under 7 days. For longer stays the fee is included in your airline ticket price. Keep the FMM stub or digital confirmation. You need it on departure, and losing it means paying around MXN 600 at the airport to replace it.

Mexico does not require proof of onward travel or hotel bookings at the border, but immigration officers can ask. Have something ready on your phone. Extensions beyond 180 days require visiting an INM (Instituto Nacional de Migracion) office inside Mexico before your stay expires.

Metro Line 8 runs from Nuevos Ministerios (central Madrid) to T1/T2/T3 in 12–15 minutes (€6, including the airport supplement). T4 requires an additional free shuttle from T2; add 10 minutes. The Cercanías commuter train (Line C-1) reaches T4 from Atocha station in 25 minutes (€2.60, no supplement).Taxis have a fixed fare of €30 from central Madrid zones. The ride is typically 20–35 minutes depending on traffic. Avenida de América bus hub serves several airport bus routes (€5).
