Spanish passport holders need a visa to enter Cape Verde. The easiest option is the eVisa, available at ease.gov.cv. It costs EUR 31 plus a EUR 2 processing fee. Apply at least 5 days before travel. The eVisa allows a single entry for up to 30 days.
You also need to pre-register through the EASE portal (the same site) and pay an airport security tax of EUR 31. This tax is separate from the visa fee. Both the eVisa and the security tax can be handled in one session on the EASE website.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. Bring the printed eVisa confirmation, proof of accommodation, and a return ticket. Extensions beyond 30 days are possible at the immigration office (DNRE) in Praia or at police stations on other islands.

The GC-1 motorway runs directly to the airport. Rental cars are the dominant transport mode for island visitors; return desks are in the terminal building.
