If you leave after the 30 days without extending, you pay a departure surcharge at the airport based on how many extra days you stayed. The fee ranges from about DOP 1,000 to DOP 20,000.

From Maspalomas and the southern resorts, Line 66 runs to the airport in 40–50 minutes (€4.35).Taxis from Las Palmas city center cost €25–35. From Maspalomas: €30–40. The GC-1 motorway runs directly to the airport. Rental cars are the dominant transport mode for island visitors; return desks are in the terminal building.
