British passport holders enter Germany (and the entire Schengen Area) visa-free for up to 90 days in any 180-day rolling period. No fee, no advance application. Direct flights from London to Frankfurt run about 1 hour 40 minutes, to Berlin about 1 hour 50 minutes, and to Munich about 1 hour 55 minutes. Lufthansa, British Airways, easyJet, and Ryanair all operate nonstop service to multiple German cities. Germany uses the euro. No vaccination requirements for UK arrivals. A UK driving license is valid for visits up to 6 months. German autobahns have no blanket speed limit, but many stretches have posted limits enforced by fixed and mobile cameras.

Heathrow Express runs from London Paddington to T5 and T2/T3 in 15–21 minutes (£37 single, cheaper booked online or via the Heathrow app). Elizabeth line (Crossrail) is a lower-cost alternative; Paddington to T5 in 34 minutes from £13.50 with an Oyster/contactless cap of £14.90. The Elizabeth line also serves central London stations including Bond Street, Farringdon, and Liverpool Street.London Underground Piccadilly line serves all terminals (T2/T3/T4/T5) from central London in 40–60 minutes (£6 with Oyster). Taxis (black cabs) from central London cost £55–90 depending on traffic. Coach services from Victoria Coach Station (National Express) cost from £10 booked in advance.

S8/S9 S-Bahn to Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (15 min, €5.65) departs from the basement of Terminal 1 Regional station. For long-distance travel to other German cities, the Fernbahnhof (separate building, connected by walkway) has direct ICE services; check if your train stops here before going into the city.Taxis from Terminal 1/2 to Frankfurt city centre cost €25–40. Rental car agencies are at both terminals. Terminal 2 is connected to Terminal 1 via the free SkyLine monorail; allow 5–10 minutes for the transfer. No airport supplement applies to Frankfurt public transit.

Continental climate with moderate continental influence. Winters are cold (−1 to 5°C) with periodic snow and ice. FRA handles de-icing well but heavy snowfall causes delays across the network. Fog along the Rhine Valley is a significant departure risk in November through January, sometimes persisting until midday.

Summers are warm (22–30°C) with afternoon thunderstorms that cause brief but sharp delays. Spring is mild and damp. Autumn offers the best settled weather. FRA is a major hub. Weather delays cascade through Lufthansa's global network.
