Italy uses the euro, trading at roughly 3.95 SAR per EUR 1. Card payments work at most businesses, though small trattorias and gelaterias may prefer cash. No mandatory vaccinations. Rome's metro costs EUR 1.50 per ride or EUR 7 for a 24-hour pass. The Frecciarossa high-speed train connects Rome to Milan in 2 hours 55 minutes (from EUR 19.90 booked early) and Rome to Naples in 1 hour 10 minutes (from EUR 9.90). Milan's Quadrilatero della Moda is a top luxury shopping district for Gulf visitors, and halal restaurants are common in Rome's Esquilino neighborhood and Milan's Porta Venezia area.

The Haramain High Speed Railway connects JED Airport Station to Jeddah city (King Abdullah Station) in about 15 minutes (SAR 20–25). The same line runs to Mecca and Medina, making it useful for Hajj and Umrah travelers.Taxis from central Jeddah cost SAR 60–100 and take 25–45 minutes. Uber and Careem operate widely and typically run SAR 40–80. Driving yourself is straightforward; the airport is well signed from King Abdulaziz Road and the Ring Road.

Malpensa Express trains depart Terminal 1 every 30 minutes to Milano Cadorna (45 min, €13) and Milano Centrale (52 min, €13). Terminal 2 passengers must take the free inter-terminal shuttle to reach the train. Taxis from Terminal 1 charge a fixed rate of around €100 to central Milan; pre-booked private transfers can be slightly cheaper.

Rental car desks are located in Terminal 1's arrivals area with a separate multi-storey car park. The A8 and A26 motorways give good access to the broader Lombardy and Piedmont regions.

Humid subtropical/continental climate on the Po Plain. Summers (June–August) are hot and muggy at 28–34°C, with afternoon thunderstorms that can produce short but sharp ground delays. Winters (November–February) are cold, damp, and foggy at 0–7°C. Fog is the most significant disruption risk and can persist for days, causing diversions to Turin or Bergamo.

Spring and autumn are mild and pleasant but bring variable rain. Po Valley fog is notoriously dense. Check conditions carefully for November through January travel.
