No yellow fever vaccination is required for entry, though yellow fever vaccination applies if traveling to the Amazon region.

Direct flights from Istanbul (IST) to Sao Paulo run about 13 hours on Turkish Airlines. Istanbul to Rio de Janeiro is not nonstop but connects through Sao Paulo or a European hub. Brazil uses the Brazilian real (BRL), trading at roughly 0.16 BRL per TRY 1. Card payments work widely. ATMs (Banco24Horas network) dispense reais and accept international cards. The Sao Paulo Metro costs BRL 5 per ride (about TRY 32). Uber and 99 are the dominant ride-hailing apps across all Brazilian cities, running cheaper than taxis.

Istanbul Metro M11 Gayrettepe–İstanbul Havalimanı line connects the airport to the broader metro network; from Gayrettepe (Mecidiyeköy/Levent area) the journey is about 35 minutes (₺60–70 with Istanbulkart). The line runs roughly 5am to midnight.Havaist express buses serve Taksim, Kadıköy, and other major hubs (₺50–80, 45–90 minutes depending on traffic). Taxis use a meter; expect ₺400–600 from Taksim or Sultanahmet. The airport is 35km northwest of the city; traffic on the O-7 motorway can be severe during peak hours.
