Seoul to Krabi (ICN–KBV) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

South Korean passport holders enter Thailand visa-free for up to 60 days (extended from 30 days in 2024). No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond the date of entry. You need a return or onward ticket and proof of funds (THB 20,000 per person or THB 40,000 per family, though this is rarely checked in practice).

The 60-day visa-free stay can be extended once for 30 additional days at any Thai Immigration office for THB 1,900 (about $55). The Chaeng Wattana office in Bangkok and offices in Chiang Mai and Phuket handle extensions in 1 to 3 hours. For longer stays, a 60-day tourist visa from the Royal Thai Embassy in Seoul costs KRW 40,000 and is extendable for another 30 days in Thailand. Multiple-entry tourist visas (METV) cost KRW 200,000 and allow 60-day entries for 6 months.

Direct flights from Seoul Incheon to Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK) run about 5 hours 30 minutes on Korean Air, Asiana, Thai Airways, T'way Air, and several low-cost carriers. Seoul to Chiang Mai, Phuket, and Koh Samui routes also operate seasonally. Thailand uses the Thai baht (THB), trading at roughly 34 THB per $1. ATMs charge THB 220 per withdrawal on top of your bank's fees. No mandatory vaccinations. Grab works for taxis and food delivery in Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Phuket. The BTS Skytrain and MRT subway in Bangkok use Rabbit and MRT cards respectively (not yet unified).

AREX (Airport Railroad Express) runs two services from Seoul Station: the Direct Train (43 min, ₩11,000, reserved seats) and the All-Stop train (66 min, ₩4,550, unreserved). Both trains serve T1 first, then T2; confirm which terminal your airline uses before boarding.Limousine buses depart from major Seoul neighborhoods and hotels (₩16,000–18,000, 60–90 min depending on traffic). KAL and LIMOUSINE services are reliable. Taxis from central Seoul cost ₩65,000–80,000 and take 60–90 minutes. Deluxe (black) taxis are pricier but English-speaking drivers are more common.
