South Korean passport holders enter Finland visa-free for up to 90 days within any 180-day period across the Schengen area. No fee, no advance application. Passport must be valid for at least 3 months beyond your planned departure from the Schengen zone.

Your passport is stamped on first Schengen entry. The 90-day limit applies across all Schengen countries combined. For longer stays, apply for a residence permit through the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri) before your visa-free period expires. Direct flights from Seoul Incheon to Helsinki run about 9 hours 30 minutes on Finnair and Korean Air. Helsinki is a popular transit hub for connections to other European cities, cutting travel times compared to routing through Central European hubs. Finland uses the euro. Card payments work everywhere, and many businesses do not accept cash at all. No mandatory vaccinations. Helsinki's public transit runs on the HSL system: a single AB-zone ticket costs EUR 2.95 (buy via the HSL app). Winter daylight in Helsinki drops to about 6 hours in December, while summer nights barely get dark at all. Rovaniemi in Lapland (1 hour 15 minutes by Finnair from Helsinki) is the official hometown of Santa Claus, a draw for Korean tourists year-round.

AREX (Airport Railroad Express) runs two services from Seoul Station: the Direct Train (43 min, ₩11,000, reserved seats) and the All-Stop train (66 min, ₩4,550, unreserved). Both trains serve T1 first, then T2; confirm which terminal your airline uses before boarding.Limousine buses depart from major Seoul neighborhoods and hotels (₩16,000–18,000, 60–90 min depending on traffic). KAL and LIMOUSINE services are reliable. Taxis from central Seoul cost ₩65,000–80,000 and take 60–90 minutes. Deluxe (black) taxis are pricier but English-speaking drivers are more common.
