No direct flights connect the US to Jersey. Route through London Gatwick (about 1 hour to JER on easyJet or British Airways), London City, or Southampton (30 minutes on Blue Islands). Condor Ferries connects Jersey to Saint-Malo, France (1 hour 20 minutes by high-speed ferry) and Poole, England (4 hours 30 minutes). Total travel time from the US East Coast runs 9 to 13 hours. Jersey uses the Jersey pound (JEP), issued at par with the British pound sterling. UK banknotes and coins are accepted everywhere. Card payments work at most businesses. Jersey notes are not accepted in the UK, so spend or exchange them before departing. Local buses cover the island at GBP 2 per single trip or GBP 25 for a 7-day pass.
