Summers (June–August) are brutally hot and humid at 32–38°C with heavy monsoon rainfall and frequent thunderstorms causing ground delays. Winters (December–February) are cold and damp at 0–8°C, with occasional freezing rain and ice that disrupts ramp operations more than snow.
Spring (March–May) brings heavy rain and flooding risk from the Yangtze and Han rivers. Autumn (September–October) is the most comfortable season. Buildings are aggressively air-conditioned in summer. Pack a layer for indoors.
