Thai passport holders enter Cambodia visa-free for up to 14 days under the bilateral ASEAN arrangement. No fee, no advance application. The same applies at land border crossings including Poipet-Aranyaprathet, Hat Lek-Koh Kong, and O'Smach.

For stays beyond 14 days, a tourist visa (Type T) is available on arrival at airports and land borders for $30 (about THB 1,050), granting 30 days. The e-Visa option at evisa.gov.kh costs $36 (including processing fee) and takes 3 business days. The 30-day tourist visa can be extended once for 30 additional days at the Immigration Department in Phnom Penh for $45. Overstaying costs $10 per day.

Direct flights from Bangkok to Phnom Penh run about 1 hour on Thai Airways, Bangkok Airways, Cambodia Angkor Air, and AirAsia. Bangkok to Siem Reap runs about 1 hour on Bangkok Airways and AirAsia. The overland bus from Bangkok's Mo Chit to Siem Reap takes 7 to 9 hours (about THB 750) via the Poipet border crossing. Cambodia uses the US dollar as its de facto currency alongside the Cambodian riel (KHR). Prices above $1 are quoted in dollars; sub-dollar change comes back in riel at roughly 4,100 KHR per $1. ATMs dispense dollars. Card payments work at hotels and larger restaurants. No mandatory vaccinations. Tuk-tuks are the standard transport in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap at $1 to $3 per short trip. The Angkor Wat complex charges $37 for a 1-day pass or $62 for 3 days.
