Hamburg to Tel Aviv (HAM–TLV) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

German passport holders can enter Israel visa-free for up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from entry. At Ben Gurion Airport you receive a small entry card (B/2 visa slip) instead of a passport stamp. Keep this card with your passport for the entire trip. You need it for hotel check-ins, car rentals, and departure.

Security screening at Ben Gurion is thorough and applies to everyone. Expect questions about the purpose of your visit, your itinerary, who you are meeting, and whether you have been to certain countries. Interviews can take 5 minutes or 45 minutes. Arrive at the airport 3 hours before your departure flight. Stamps from Arab or Muslim-majority countries in your passport may trigger additional questions but do not prevent entry.

The 90-day stay cannot be extended from inside Israel for tourism. If you want to work, your employer must arrange a B/1 work visa before arrival. Entry to the Palestinian Territories (West Bank) is controlled by Israeli checkpoints and does not require a separate visa. Entry to Gaza is restricted and requires coordination with both Israeli and local authorities.
