Self-employed applicants need business registration, tax filings, and client contracts. Strong ties to India (property, family, employment) reduce refusal risk. The UK is not part of the Schengen Area, so a Schengen visa does not cover UK entry.

Direct flights from Delhi and Mumbai to London Heathrow run 8 hours 30 minutes to 9 hours 30 minutes on Air India, British Airways, and Virgin Atlantic. Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Kochi connect via nonstop or one-stop routes. The UK uses the British pound (GBP). No mandatory vaccinations. The Heathrow Express to Paddington Station takes 15 minutes for GBP 25 (book online for cheaper advance fares). The Elizabeth Line from Heathrow to central London costs GBP 12.80 (peak) or GBP 11.20 (off-peak) with Oyster/contactless.
