German passport holders can enter Namibia visa-free for stays up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from arrival and have at least 2 blank pages. At immigration in Windhoek, you receive a visitor permit stamped into your passport. The officer decides the duration, so state clearly how long you plan to stay.

You need a return or onward ticket and proof of accommodation for at least the first few nights. No advance registration or entry fee. If you want to extend beyond the initial permit, apply at the Ministry of Home Affairs in Windhoek before it expires. Extensions are free but take time to process.

Namibia has a large German-speaking community, and German is widely understood in Windhoek and tourist areas. Yellow fever vaccination is required only if arriving from an endemic country. Direct flights from Frankfurt do not trigger this requirement.

S-Bahn lines S8 and S9 run from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (main station) to Terminal 1 every 15 minutes (15 min, €5.65 single or included in a Frankfurt day ticket). ICE and IC long-distance trains serve the airport's own long-distance station (Fernbahnhof); this is separate from the S-Bahn Regional station and connects Frankfurt to Cologne, Stuttgart, Munich, and other cities without requiring travel through the city centre.Taxis from the city centre cost €25–35 and take 15–25 minutes. Terminal 2 connects to Terminal 1 via the free SkyLine people mover.
