German passport holders need a visa for Tanzania. The easiest option is the eVisa through visa.immigration.go.tz. The single-entry tourist visa costs USD 50, is valid for 90 days, and processing takes 3 to 10 business days. Apply at least 2 weeks before travel. You need a passport-size photo, passport bio page scan, return ticket, and hotel booking.

Visa on arrival is available at Dar es Salaam, Kilimanjaro, and Zanzibar airports for USD 50. The queue can be long during peak season (July to October and December to February). Having the eVisa approved in advance skips this line entirely.

Your passport must have at least 6 months of validity and at least 2 blank pages. Yellow fever vaccination is required if you arrive from an endemic country. If flying direct from Germany, it is not mandatory but some border agents ask for it. Carrying your yellow fever card avoids any argument.

S-Bahn lines S8 and S9 run from Frankfurt Hauptbahnhof (main station) to Terminal 1 every 15 minutes (15 min, €5.65 single or included in a Frankfurt day ticket). ICE and IC long-distance trains serve the airport's own long-distance station (Fernbahnhof); this is separate from the S-Bahn Regional station and connects Frankfurt to Cologne, Stuttgart, Munich, and other cities without requiring travel through the city centre.Taxis from the city centre cost €25–35 and take 15–25 minutes. Terminal 2 connects to Terminal 1 via the free SkyLine people mover.
