Copa Airlines uses PTY as its hub with connections across Latin America. Direct service also operates from New York JFK, Newark, Fort Lauderdale, Orlando, Los Angeles, Washington Dulles, and Atlanta. Broward County Transit Route 1 runs from downtown Fort Lauderdale to the airport (30–40 min, $2), but it is slow with many stops. The airport has no direct rail link; Brightline's FLL station is 1.5 miles away with a shuttle connection.Ride-shares cost $15–25 from Fort Lauderdale and $35–55 from Miami Beach. Taxis are metered. I-595 and I-95 access can be congested during Miami rush hour (7–9am and 4–7pm).
