Dublin to Łódź (DUB–LCJ) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

Irish passport holders enter Poland visa-free for unlimited stays as EU citizens. No fee, no advance application. A valid Irish passport is required. Ireland is not in the Schengen Area, so there is passport control on arrival from Dublin, but EU citizens pass through quickly.

For stays beyond 3 months, register at the local voivodeship office (Urzad Wojewodzki) to obtain an EU citizen registration certificate. The fee is PLN 25 (about EUR 6). Bring proof of employment, self-employment, studies, or sufficient resources plus health insurance. A Polish PESEL number (universal electronic population registration system) is issued upon registration and is required for banking, healthcare, tax, and most contracts.

Direct flights from Dublin to Warsaw run about 2 hours 50 minutes, and to Krakow about 3 hours, on Ryanair and Aer Lingus. Wroclaw, Gdansk, and Poznan also have direct seasonal or year-round service from Dublin. Poland uses the Polish zloty (PLN), trading at roughly 4.3 PLN per EUR 1. Card payments are widely accepted, including contactless. No vaccination requirements. Poland has a large Irish expat community, particularly in Warsaw and Krakow. Irish driving licenses are valid throughout the stay.

Dublin Bus route 747 (Airlink) runs from the city centre (O'Connell Street) to the airport in 30–50 minutes, costing €7 one-way or €12 return. DART rail does not serve the airport directly; the nearest station requires a bus connection. Ride-shares from the city centre typically cost €20–35 depending on traffic.

The M50 and M1 motorways feed into the airport; short-term parking in Terminal 1 or 2 costs from €4/30 min, while long-stay lots (P3/P4) are significantly cheaper for multi-day trips. Allow extra time during morning and evening rush hours on the M50.
