Spanish passport holders enter Morocco visa-free for up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of entry. Fill out a white entry/exit form on the plane or at the immigration counter. Hand it to the officer with your passport. The process is quick at major airports like Casablanca, Marrakech, and Tangier.

There is no formal extension process for the 90-day tourist stay. If you need more time, the standard approach is to leave Morocco (Ceuta, Melilla, or the Canary Islands count as exits since they are Spanish territory) and re-enter for a fresh 90 days. Overstaying results in questioning at departure and a potential ban on future entry.

Spain and Morocco are only 14 km apart at the Strait of Gibraltar. Ferries run daily between Tarifa and Tangier, and between Algeciras and Tangier Med or Ceuta. The Tarifa-Tangier ferry takes 35 minutes. Flying from Madrid or Barcelona takes about 1.5 hours. This is one of the easiest border crossings from Europe to Africa.

Aerobus express coaches run every 5 minutes from Plaça de Catalunya to both T1 and T2 (35 min, €6.75 one-way / €11.60 return). Departures from 5:00am to 1:00am.

RENFE R2 Nord train connects Passeig de Gràcia and Sants station to the airport (20 min from Sants, €4.60). Taxis from the city centre are metered and typically cost €25–35. Ride-shares (Uber, Cabify) are available and cost similarly.
