Stockholm to Dallas-Fort Worth (ARN–DFW) — Airlines, Schedules & Connections

Sweden is part of the US Visa Waiver Program. Swedish passport holders need an approved ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization) before boarding. The ESTA costs USD 21, is valid for 2 years, and allows stays up to 90 days per visit. Apply online at the official CBP ESTA site at least 72 hours before departure. Your passport must be machine-readable and valid for the duration of the stay.

The Arlanda Express train runs non-stop from Stockholm Central Station to ARN in 18 minutes (SEK 280–320 one-way, cheaper booked online). The Pendeltåg (commuter rail) stops at Arlanda South/North stations for SEK 145 total (including a SEK 120 airport supplement); the journey takes 40 minutes.Taxis from central Stockholm cost SEK 600–800 (45–60 min). Uber runs SEK 400–600. The E4 motorway connects the airport to the city; traffic can be heavy southbound during afternoon rush. Driving takes 35–50 minutes in normal conditions.

DART Orange Line runs to downtown Dallas (50 min, $3). TEXRail reaches downtown Fort Worth in 55 minutes ($2.50). Taxis and ride-shares cost $25–45 to either city center.Rental car facilities are at the south end. All terminals connect via the free Skylink train; this is an airside-only connection, so you must clear security first to use it.

Hot continental climate. Summers are intensely hot (35–40°C) with little rain. Winters are mild (3–12°C) but ice storms hit 2–3 times per year, causing major airport disruptions.

Spring (March–May) brings severe thunderstorms and tornado risk that regularly ground flights. Fall is the best travel window with moderate temperatures and low storm frequency.
